Svara

Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 5, 2026

The short version: Svara listens only during an active translation session. Live audio is sent directly to Soniox for real-time transcription and translation. Svara does not store your audio or conversation text on its servers, sell personal data, or use advertising trackers.

1. Information Svara processes

Microphone audio and translated speech. When you start a live session, Svara captures microphone audio and streams it over an encrypted connection to Soniox so that speech can be transcribed and translated in real time. Svara does not upload recordings to its own server and does not keep audio after the live session.

Conversation text. Live and completed text may remain in the app's memory so you can review the current session and recent conversations while the app is running. The current version does not save this history to Svara's servers or persist it as a cloud conversation archive.

Location. If you grant permission, Svara uses your device location to center the globe and suggest a locally relevant language. Svara does not send your precise location to Soniox or store it on Svara's servers. Apple's location and geocoding services may process the request under Apple's own privacy terms.

Language and app preferences. Your onboarding state, primary language, and app settings are stored locally on your device.

Subscription information. Purchases are processed by Apple. RevenueCat helps Svara determine whether your Svara Pro entitlement is active. Svara may receive an anonymous app-user identifier, product and entitlement status, purchase dates, and related subscription information; it does not receive your full payment-card details.

2. Service providers

Soniox processes live audio and returns transcripts and translations. Soniox states that real-time API content is processed transiently, is encrypted in transit, is not stored unless storage is explicitly requested or configured, and is not used to train its models. Soniox may retain content-free operational metadata such as request identifiers, timestamps, duration, usage, status, model, region, latency, and error information.

RevenueCat provides subscription and entitlement infrastructure. Apple processes App Store purchases and device services. Cloudflare hosts Svara's key-provisioning endpoint, which issues a short-lived, single-use Soniox key; that endpoint does not receive microphone audio or transcript text. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies.

3. How information is used

4. Sharing, selling, and tracking

Svara shares information only with service providers needed to deliver the functions described above, or when required by law. Svara does not sell personal information and does not use cross-app advertising trackers.

5. Retention

Svara does not retain live audio or transcript content on its servers. Locally held session content is removed when the app's in-memory state is cleared, including after the app is terminated. Apple, RevenueCat, Soniox, and Cloudflare may retain purchase or content-free operational records for their legitimate service, security, billing, and legal needs.

6. Your choices

You can deny or revoke microphone and location access in iOS Settings. Without microphone access, live translation cannot work; without location access, you can still choose languages manually. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple Account subscription settings. For privacy questions or requests, email hey@stwk.site.

7. Security and international processing

Svara uses encrypted network connections and short-lived Soniox credentials. No service can guarantee absolute security. Depending on provider configuration and your location, service data may be processed in countries other than your own, subject to applicable safeguards.

8. Children

Svara is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us.

9. Changes

We may update this policy as Svara changes. The updated version will show a new “Last updated” date.
